Fredrick is still very wrestless at night between 12am and 6am. Jon is able to sleep through it but he is constantly banging the bed with his head and it just breaks my heart and so I'm not sleeping. I don't feel tired but some sleep would be nice so we got a crib for him. We'll see how that works tonight. And let's just say the crib is not up to our safety code, but I'm sure he'll be fine considering what he slept in for the last 8 months. You'll see it in the video at the end. He loves playing in it...he's also proud because he can pull himself up and stand.
Mom and I went exploring outside today. A lot of electronic stores...nothing too interesting. We found a kids store downstairs from the hotel, VERY expensive. I haven't been able to find too many clothes for Fredrick. Mom is downstairs getting her hair cut. I'm so excited to see what they do. Jon & Nathaniel have gone to the pool and Fredrick and I are just hanging out. I bought him some rusk cookies so he's right now going to town on that! After mom and I ventured out, when I returned to the room, Fredrick looked at me and gave me the biggest smile! Awwwww, he likes me! LOL! It's amazing though how quickly he bacame "spoiled". The first couple of days he played on the floor and now he needs to be picked up and played with (not that I mind). Also he would just lay there for diaper changes, now I have to hold him down. It's amazes me how quickly his habits changed...I guess he knows he can get away with a lot more now. He continuously scratches his head. I guess this was his soothing technique or his head was always itchy because of the scabies.
I met a couple in the restaurant whom I had "met" online on a Yahoo Vietnam Adoption group. He was the one who recommended this hotel (a gigantic thank you to Kevin!!!) He is here adopting their second daughter. It was finally nice to put a face to the person I had been emailing back and forth for the past 5 months. He lives in Ontario and we had received our proposals at the same time so we had been complaining about the wait together! It's also nice because they know the area and they are giving us all the info we need! Well I shall leave you with some pics and a video (if they upload correctly!)

Hey Tita Jenn!
ReplyDeleteThe hotel is pretty nice...a lot cozier than our first hotel in Danang! I think he was watching scooby doo (in English), although he was caught watching a Vietnamese show and only because there were a bunch of pretty girls singing & dancing! LOL! :-)))
Hi everyone!! Well, your accommodations look fantastic and if you have to be away from home, I don't think you could ask for anything nicer!! How did the washer & dryer work?? Fredrick just gets cuter with every picture and I think he's going to keep you very busy when you get home - he looks as though he just wants to go, go go!! Sounds like you are all doing better with some good food in your tummies and a better night's sleep. Aaron banged his head too when he was a baby, Dr. said nothing was wrong, he just probably found it soothing and his way of "rocking" himself to sleep. As he got older, he would bang his head and sing his favourite songs at the same time!! He did grow out of it, but Jess, I too was worried about it. Guess it didn't do him any harm as he's 24 years old and doing just fine!! Maybe Fredrick will do better tonight in the crib. Jon & Nathaniel really seem to be enjoying the pool together, some good "Daddy" time! Thanks again for the great pics. and the video, truly amazing. Looking forward to your next blog as we follow along in your journey. Take care and God bless. Love, Ron & Sharon
ReplyDeleteJust got home from prayer meeting and you were well prayed for. It's great to see Fredrick looking so happy and at home with you. Ron drove me home and told me about the video. It's priceless, complete with Mommy's "not so hard" in the background. I miss you Mavis! Love, Pearl
ReplyDeleteA real bonus to-day! Pics and a video. Unbelievable what tech can do. Now You'll have to post a pic of your mom's hairdo. She's brave to go there, Mat went in India not knowing that they first give you one violent head massage first! Your hotel looks spacious which is what you need considering you're there for 2 weeks. Anxious to see some touristy pics. Take care Hugs to all Rosalind
ReplyDeleteHello Aunt Mavis, Jess, John and little ones,
ReplyDeleteYour tummy must have been growling for real food. The looks on your faces were familiar. The pictures with little ones in crib is absolutely adorable. We have one similar with our little J's. We love you and pray all paperwork move along promptly.
Take care,
Jo, Rod and J,J xxxx
